COFIDES has a new Chairman and CEO, Salvador Marín Hernández. Prior to his present appointment, Mr Marín Hernández was Regional Minister of Economy and Finance of the Community of Murcia, a position held since June 2011. From 2008 to 2011, he headed the Regional Ministry of Universities, Enterprise and Research. He has presided institutions such as the Regional Institute for Internal Development of Murcia (development agency for the furtherance and internationalisation of SMEs) and served as vice-president of the regional government´s Comprehensive Internationalisation Committee.
Holder of a PhD. in Economics and Business Administration (earned with an award for special distinction), he chaired the Organización de Economistas de la Educación (organisation of education economists) from 2003 to 2007 and from 2007 to 2009, the Corps of Financial Information Experts, a body under the aegis of the General Council of the Chartered Institutions of Economists of Spain.
He has many years of teaching experience in Spanish, Latin American and U.S. business schools and universities and has provided SMEs and financial institutions with national and international consultant services in areas such as strategy, economics and financial information.
