>COFIDES to take a stake of up to 9 million euros in the Mexican subsidiary of REVERTÉ.

The Catalonian company REVERTÉ and COFIDES have reached an agreement on the financial support to be provided by the development finance institution for the project undertaken by REVERTÉ in Mexico.

The finance agreement implies that COFIDES, as manager of the Fund for Foreign Investment (FIEX), will take a holding in the subsidiary’s share capital of up to 9 million euros. The Mexican society REGIO MÁRMOL is presently 95% owned by REVERTÉ.

The operation was signed today by COFIDES’ Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Salvador Marín, and the Chief Executive Officer at REVERTÉ, Modest Reverté, and the Chairman of REGIO MÁRMOL, José Reverté. After the formalization of the operation, the Chairman of COFIDES declared that “COFIDES´ commitment is to continue supporting the international investment projects developed by Spanish companies, and boosting the competitiveness of the national enterprises operating overseas”. Likewise, Salvador Marín stated that “COFIDES’ activity, that follows the strategy designed by the Secretary of State for Commerce, establish as a priority financing projects such as RERVERTÉ that contribute to the growth of the national economy”.

REVERTÉ, established in 1978, is the parent company of a Catalonian group of enterprises with a wide international activity. The company is engaged in the production and commercialization of Calcium Carbonate, in powder or slurry form, aiming to improve its clients’ manufacturing process from a qualitative point of view.

The total investment of the project amounts to over 37 million euros and comprises the construction of a Calcium Carbonate production facility in Durango, with an estimated capacity of 480,000 Tn. per year. The new plant is planned to be operative by the end of 2013 and will employ more than 120 workers.
