COFIDES has granted the PLASTICS ALT CAMP Mexican subsidiary a 385 000-euro joint venture loan. The parent, a Catalonian SME, engages in plastic injection moulding for the automobile industry. Drawn from FONPYME (75 %) and COFIDES´s own (25 %) resources, the loan will be earmarked for increasing the Mexican subsidiary’s production capacity.

PLASTICS ALT CAMP founded this subsidiary at Santiago de Querétaro in 2006. In the wake of the growing demand for more complex parts, PLASTICS ALT CAMP’s Mexican subsidiary has been obliged to increase its output capacity.

With a total investment of 552 700 euros, this enlargement is also expected to lead to a rise in the plant’s headcount from 3 to 15 workers in less than two years’ time. The Mexican project is the result of an SME’s ambition to grow and consolidate internationally, diversifying its customer portfolio and adding value to its manufactures.

PLASTICS ALT CAMP, an SME founded at Tarragona in 1986, engages primarily in plastic injection moulding for the automobile industries, where it operates as a TIER-2 supplier. It develops the moulds for and mass manufactures plastic parts that are built into vehicle components such as automatic window mechanisms and airbags, among others. In addition to its Mexican facility, PLASTICS ALT CAMP has a subsidiary in Slovakia.
