Thus, COFIDES promotes the financial instruments and resources managed to support investment projects in Ecuador. The Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Ecuador and the Spanish Chambers of Commerce in Quito and Guayaquil organised daily events to promote the financial services provided by COFIDES. The COFIDES trade mission also visited different projects undertook by Spanish companies in the country.
One of the priorities of the COFIDES commercial activity is to increase its portfolio in Ecuador. Since COFIDES began to conduct business in 1990, COFIDES has committed more than 19 million euros in 3 investment projects in Ecuador. The projects approved entail a 74 million euro total investment and are expected to generate nearly 450 direct jobs. Nowadays, the COFIDES portfolio in Ecuador amounts to 15 million euros, which are drawn from FIEX resources.
