Madrid, July 23, 2015, The Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo, COFIDES SA will support AMC Juices for their juice packaging plant expansion in Vlissingen, Netherlands. To do this, COFIDES will provide €6m by way of a joint venture loan structured through the Fund for Foreign Investments Operations (FIEX).

COFIDES and AMC Juices collaborated in this factory launch last year. With this new operation, AMC Juices will expand the juice bottling and packaging plant and will refurbish the installation with new machinery and production lines in order to increase their productivity in order to respond to growing demand. Juices AMC investment for this expansion project amounts to €11.2m.

AMC Juices’ main activity is the production, packaging and commercialisation of juices, nectars, functional beverages, juices creams and fruit purees under retail brand chains. AMC Juices prepares and packages juices in their production centres to over 60 major European distribution chains. AMC Juices is one of the largest European operators in the chilled juice category and has a high volume of innovative product launches in the market.

After signing the agreement, COFIDES Chairman and CEO, Salvador Marín highlighted the trajectory of AMC Juices in the international market and also stated that AMC Juices focused their strong commitment on their quality and innovation. He also said “this international growth of companies strengthen the Spanish companies in their home market and guarantee their commitment to permanent and quality employment”.

According to Javier Calvo, chief financial officer of AMC Juices, "It is important for Spanish companies and groups with international presence and success to know that they can count on the support of COFIDES for the development of solvent projects that can strengthen their position abroad and successfully take on a greater presence in international markets".

AMC is an international business group dedicated to the food and beverage sector in the global market, focused on private labels and specialising in: fresh fruits, juices, smoothies and natural fruit drinks, flowers and ice cream. The group owns 3,650 hectares of citrus fruit cultivation plots located throughout Spain, Israel, USA, South Africa and Chile, as well as its own breeding and development centres for new varieties of vegetables. Its juice squeezing facilities are located in Spain, Costa Rica, Germany and Holland, with Holland being related to this round of funding.
