Madrid, October 16, 2025. COFIDES, through its Co-Investment Fund (FOCO), invested €50M in the SWEN Impact Fund for Transition 3 (Swift 3), an infrastructure private equity vehicle managed by the French firm SWEN Capital Partners.
Swift 3 is a Luxembourg-based fund focused on renewable gas production and distribution assets, such as biomethane and green hydrogen.
With a target size of €1bn, the fund aims to make investments between €20M and €50M. At least twice FOCO’s contribution will be invested in Spanish companies, reinforcing Spain’s role in the energy transition and decarbonization.
SWEN Impact Fund for Transition 3 has a well-established decarbonization strategy, with a focus on renewable gases, to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. Now in its third generation, the fund has already built a strong track record, including investments in four Spanish developers.
SWEN Capital Partners brings extensive experience to the sector, with over 40 investments to date—primarily in renewable gases, and particularly biomethane—positioning the firm as one of Europe’s most experienced investors in this field.
Ángela Pérez, COFIDES’ Chairperson and CEO, pointed out: “This marks FOCO’s first investment in a biomethane-focused vehicle, a key solution for advancing toward a cleaner and more sustainable economy. Partnering with a firm that has a proven track record in the sector allows us to maximize the positive impact of our investments and reinforce our commitment to a low-carbon future.”
Olivier Aubert, Managing Director & Head of SWIFT strategy completes: “We are delighted to welcome COFIDES as a strategic investor in Swift 3. Their commitment through FOCO strengthens our ability to accelerate the deployment of renewable gas infrastructure across Europe, and particularly in Spain. This partnership reflects a shared ambition to drive the energy transition and support industrial decarbonization at scale.”
