Madrid, November 15, 2017. COFIDES Chairman, Salvador Marín, delivered the Lecture "Internationalisation: Economic impact of financing Direct Investment Abroad” at the University of Alcalá de Henares.
Marín shared his experiences in the internationalisation field with a hundred students and introduced COFIDES´ financial resources supporting Spanish companies’ projects abroad.
During his speech, the CEO of COFIDES explained that Foreign Direct Investment has a positive impact not only for companies but for the economic development of source and destination countries as well.
Furthermore, Marín presented the AECA Report jointly prepared with COFIDES “Financing the internationalisation and Foreign Direct Investment project assessment”. This Report analyses the range of support offered to financing of internationalisation and describes the comprehensive process to assess Direct Investment Abroad projects.
COFIDES is a combined private-public concern, which since 1988 has provided financial support to Spanish enterprises abroad. COFIDES manages the FIEX and FONPYME funds on behalf of the State Secretariat for Trade, within The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. The stockholders include the Bank of Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Santander Bank, Popular Bank, Sabadell Bank and CAF (Development Bank of Latin America).
