Madrid, November 08, 2017.- COFIDES Chairman,Salvador Marín, partook in the 15th Internationalisation Awards Ceremony of the Spanish Exporters and Investors Club. This edition prize-winners were the companies Ingeteam and Arpa; Luis Cacho, a civil servant, posthumously award, and the ICEX scholarship program.
Marín presented the award granted to the multinational company Ingeteam, recognised by the Spanish Exporters and Investors Club as a great Spanish company with a remarkable international projection and that was collected by its CEO,Teresa Madariaga.
The ceremony was chaired by the Secretary of State for Trade, Marisa Poncela, in the presence of more than 250 important people of the fields of economics and finance and the business world. Poncela highlighted the contribution of the external sector to growth acceleration and its role as cushion of the impact of the economic crisis. Furthermore, she encouraged companies to continue working abroad despite the recovery of the internal demand.
Antonio Bonet, President of the Spanish Exporters and Investors Club, highlighted that internationalisation has become an structural phenomenon of the Spanish economy. He stated that "Finally, internationalisation has been incorporated as a permanent activity not only by big companies but by SMEs as well”.
COFIDES is a combined private-public concern, which since 1988 has provided financial support to Spanish enterprises abroad. COFIDES manages the FIEX and FONPYME funds on behalf of the State Secretariat for Trade, within The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. The stockholders include the Bank of Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Santander Bank, Popular Bank, Sabadell Bank and CAF (Development Bank of Latin America).
