Madrid, October, 13, 2017 - COFIDES will take part in the conference "Destination India: A country of opportunities", organised by Exportar para Crecer (Export for Growth) to promote India as an investment destination.
Exportar para Crecer (Export for Growth) assists companies in their internationalisation process, providing synergies and value to the export activity. Hence, the program partners together, with the cooperation of the Embassy of India and INVEST IN INDIA, have organised these conferences which will be held in Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao from 24th to 26th October, dedicated to international business in this country.
COFIDES Managing Director, Luis de Fuentes will take part in the first conference in Madrid at a roundtable "Opportunity India: a destination for investment" where he will present the financial instruments of the company and will explain the specific facility that the company has for this destination. The second event will take place in Barcelona, where COFIDES Commercial and Business Development Deputy Director, Cristina Mena will speak. Finally, the conference will conclude with a session in Bilbao.
The program partners are, AENOR, AMEC, Arola, Banco Sabadell, COFIDES, CESCE, Esade and Garrigues. In the conference "Destination India" the Embassy of India and INVEST IN INDIA are also taking part.
AN INTERESTING INVESTMENT DESTINATION
India is today one of the most interesting destinations for Spanish investment and exports. Any data regarding this country is huge. It has the world´s second largest population, with more than 1.3 billion inhabitants, and is expected to be in first place in a few years. It is the sixth economy of the planet in nominal terms, but the third if purchasing power parity is considered. Its GDP growth exceeds 7% annually, but inflation is below 2% and public debt is 67%. It is also the tenth largest importer, the seventeenth exporter and the seventh market from a consumption point of view.
COFIDES is a combined private-public concern, which since 1988 has provided financial support to Spanish enterprises abroad. COFIDES manages the FIEX and FONPYME funds on behalf of the State Secretariat for Trade, within The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. The stockholders include the Bank of Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Santander Bank, Popular Bank, Sabadell Bank and CAF (Development Bank of Latin America).
