Madrid, October, 11, 2017 - COFIDES will support the internationalisation of the engineering company Sondeos Estructuras y Geotecnia SL for the development of a computer application for the process control and economic monitoring of the group in Colombia.
COFIDES will provide €400,000 to SEG Colombian project through a joint investment instrument structured through the FONPYME (75%) and its own resources (25%). Together with the contribution of the promoter, the total investment of this project is €570,000.
For this project the COFIDES facility used has been the one for the internationalisation of engineering companies, FINING, a resource that responds to the financing needs of engineering companies, adapting to the characteristics of companies in this sector and their projects .
After the signing of the financial agreement, COFIDES chairman, Salvador Marín, stressed that the sector has COFIDES support. "To do so we established a specific facility with which to support the internationalisation of engineering companies and is very much in demand by our companies". He also stressed, "we are confident that SEG Ingeniería´s activity will enable us to continue to support its international expansion and thereby strengthen and increase its size".
SEG Vice-President, Jaime Fernández Gómez, explained that SEG Ingeniería is a Valencian company founded in 1969. Its core business is based around consulting, engineering and architecture in the civil engineering sector. Its main activity is the design and development of infrastructure, geotechnical studies, ground engineering, supervision of civil infrastructure and buildings and verification of the quality of materials used in its construction process. It has a presence in Spain, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico and is involved in specific projects in Morocco, Senegal and Brazil, with contracts in all these countries. The company currently has more than 105 employees. It has its head office in Madrid and its engineering operating centre in Valencia.
COFIDES is a combined private-public concern, which since 1988 has provided financial support to Spanish enterprises abroad. COFIDES manages the FIEX and FONPYME funds on behalf of the State Secretariat for Trade, within The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. The stockholders include the Bank of Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Santander Bank, Popular Bank, Sabadell Bank and CAF (Development Bank of Latin America).
