Madrid, 20th February 2014. Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo, COFIDES, S.A., has taken part in the “Export for Growth” forum that took place today in Murcia. The event was aimed at Murcian horticultural companies, who want a better understanding of their export potential.
Representing COFIDES was Teresa Madrigal, the Commercial and Business Development Manager, who participated in the round table “10 Proposals to Improve” together with AENOR, AMEC and SabadellCAM where she explained the array of the COFIDES financial instruments available to finance companies for internationalisation projects. Among them, she singled out the SME-Invest program that provides funding for SMEs in both productive investment and commercial deployments. In addition, she noted that “the food industry accounts makes up 12% of the COFIDES portfolio”.
Then Proexport President Juan Marín Bravo, Apoexpa President Joaquín Gómez, and Chairman Juan Garcia-Lax, shared their experiences in the roundtable “Export Horticulture”.
COFIDES is combined private-public concern, which for the past 25 years has provided financial support to Spanish enterprises abroad. COFIDES manages the FIEX and FONPYME funds, on behalf of the State Secretariat of Commerce, within the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. The stockholders include the Bank of Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Santander Bank, Popular Bank and Sabadell Bank.
