Code of Ethics
“Rectitude, integrity and respect for human beings are the cornerstones on which COFIDES bases its business reputation. The present Code of Ethics summarizes how these principles are to be applied in our relations with all our stakeholders, including shareholders, company staff, clients, suppliers and society at large.
This Code is designed for application in everyday business transactions. All the members of the COFIDES organization must adhere to both its letter and its spirit. Efforts will be made to ensure its comprehension by and enforcement among all staff.

Corporate Governance Approach Statement
In October 2007, COFIDES, together with 30 other multilateral and bilateral Development Financial Institutions, signed in Washington an Approach Statement on Corporate Governance in which COFIDES undertakes an additional commitment to further compliance with and advance the cause of good corporate governance in the investments its cofinances.
Principles for Responsible Financing
With the Principles for Responsible Financing, signed in May 2009, COFIDES, as member of the Association of European Development Finance Institutions (EDFI), emphasized that a cornerstone of its investment activities is to have a positive impact on the local communities where they invest; the respect for human rights and environmental sustainability is a prerequisite for any financing by EDFI institutions.
