COFIDES I N THE SPANISH-ISRAELI BUSINESS ENCOUNTER

COFIDES attended the Spanish-Israeli business encounter, which took place on 19th and 20th January 2010 in the city of Tel Aviv.

In collaboration with the Trade Commission of Spain in Tel Aviv, the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) organized the business encounter. The main objective of this encounter was to help to identify business investment and cooperation opportunities as well as potential partners in Israel. During the event, participants had direct contact with Israeli firms that are interested in implementing strategic alliances with Spanish companies, as well as meeting representatives from the local administration and discovering Israel’s investment infrastructure plans for the next few years.

The sectors chosen as priorities for this encounter were technology, environment and infrastructures, but also telecommunications, clean technologies, software, medical equipment, solar energy, biotechnology, electric vehicles, public works, railways and water treatment.

> COFIDES in the Middle East

Since COFIDES began to conduct business in 1990, the Company approved 3 projects for 4.71 million euros in the Middle East.

Once the business encounter finished, the COFIDES’ trade mission visited the project of the Spanish BORGES Group in Jordan. In 2006, COFIDES extended a 0.5 million euro-loan to the BORGES Group to establish a new joint venture company - BORGES MIDDLE EAST - in Jordan.
